Spaghetti squash! Baby is currently the size of a spaghetti squash and I'm the size of a large hawaiian monk seal. LOLOL. I'm glad the weather is starting to taper off and cool a bit now, otherwise I'd really be struggling with the heat and all this extra weight. I can't believe we are already at 35 weeks, it's so crazy to think that my due date is only 5 weeks away and a delivery is so imminent!
Last update I had mentioned that the nesting hadn't yet kicked in. I feel like I'm teetering at that point now where I know the baby could come within the month and it applies more pressure but I'm just so physically tired. At least we have the baby's coming home outfit and blankie ready to go along with a set of clothes for me. Dad still has to pack his hospital bag along with all our toiletries and such. Good news is I got the breast pump and parts all sterilized and set! Along with a diaper caddy. There's still a tad more laundry to do but it will get done. That's really all thats necessary ... right?!
Food was always associated with pleasure in my eyes. Until pregnancy that is. I've been struggling because ever since I've ever known anything, food has always been my safe space (I'm really sounding like a big back hahaha). Truly though, I love everything that comes along with the experience, getting to relate to people through what they love to eat, learning about the history of a cuisine, all that but NOWWWWW I'm just always hungry and then get full immediately? The satiety that happens when I eat with a 35 week old child in my belly does not hit the same as usual. At first I had the food aversions, now I just get full so quick even though I feel like I'm starving? This is one part of pregnancy that I fundamentally cannot stand by, LOL. I don't look at fried chicken sandwiches the same and I can't enjoy a steak to it's full capacity. The light at the end of the tunnel is right freaking there though! We will be able to enjoy it once again!
Okay so great news when it comes to carpal tunnel! Seems to have gotten better? Definitely thought it was supposed to get worse but the numbness and tingly sensation has gone away and I'm only really suffering from trigger finger now. I think I'd rather that than the latter, still struggle to open tight jars and water bottles, but have transitioned out of wearing my wrist braces every night! YAY! Hopefully this also means stronger wrists once my wrists get used to being without braces consistently.
Swelling is increasing quite a bit. When I spend long periods of time on my feet or in shoes, I can feel the swelling and can for sure visualize it when I finally get home and remove my socks. Luckily, that's probably the only time. But not luckily, that's not the only place in swelling... only people who have been preg before will know what I'm talking about. Also how dare you for not forewarning me about this! The lips be swelling, like I understand it's normal and theres more weight and pressure but like GORLLLLLLLLL, I'm glad I can't see past my belly anymore. That's all I'll say about that. Oh and the nips be mini marshmallows now. It is what it is, apparently it's to increase visibility for the baby when they come out to be able to see their food source easier. I just look at them like little monstrosities. Wild and can't be tamed. So sorry for anyone not a woman and not pregnant reading this (although I doubt there are any in that demographic reading this right now).
And that's a wrap on the 35 weeks bump update! I'm hoping to get another one in next week for the 36 weeks, but if it just so happens to be that the next blog is 37 weeks, then it is what it is. Also, anyone out there have any good book recommendations? I would love some. I'm a fan of the murder mysteries, spicy SMUTs, and feel good rom coms. I'm trying to load up my kindle in case I have to induce labor and also just to read since I'm not working and want to waste my time reading instead of prepping for the baby. LOL.
Sistah Ceej loves you, talk soon! \m/ SHOOOOOOTS
